Ickymikey from San Jose, Ca.  My teal name is Mike.

Im looking forward to kayak fishing in the bay next month.

Where is the best to fish in the Bay?
Thr nearest kayak launch is Alviso.

Is Santa Cruz or San Francisco better?
Farther but i dont mind going there every now and then.

Do you guys have a buddy when you kayak fish for safety?

Welcome. Fishing in the Bay isn't easy. You really need to keep an eye on the tides, because the currents can be very strong. Also, the areas you fish are largely dependent on what species you are targeting. You have to know what kind of fish you are targeting and where to find them... as well as know the laws.

As an Outfitter owner, I would recommend fishing with someone in the front seat or at least put some weight in the front seat of the kayak. It'll handle so much better with weight in the front. It's recommended to fish with someone... especially if they are more experienced. Much safer.

I'd recommend reading the Safety Forum stickies. Tons of info there.  You might also look at hiring a local Guide to take you out. It'll help you get a jump start on kayak fishing. Good luck!

Welcome!
I'd recommend a guide....
Two reasons, one you are new to kayaking.
Two you are new to fishing.
There are a few really knowledgable guides on here that can help you out.

Good luck be safe and wear a flotation device always.
Matt
