Thinking about heading up there this weekend, the boys are on vacation next week so I want to get them out camping for a long weekend till Tuesday. Thinking about heading here or maybe Amador. DO you think these lakes will be good fishing by the coming weekend? Anyone plan on heading out for a long weekend let me know

I would say CL over Amador based on all this rain, but not really sure. My guess is Amador is brown.

The last time we were there the Crappie were biting. I would bring some crappie gear for fun.  Good luck and post a report!

Sure will , looks like Clear Lake might be a better option than Amador. They do have the trout derby at Amador so still figuring out which one to go to.

Having not camped at the State park but have camped at Edgewater which one would you choose to fish if you had boys that enjoy fishing off the bank and kayak.
thanks

Jim, the state park has few campsites right on the water edge, you can just leave your yaks on the bank.  Lock up any food and minnows, the raccoons will be all over your yak leaving a mud trail all over it!  For some reason, they made more of a mess out of my yak.   :smt005

THat odes sound nice but I think I will just plan on heading over there during the day and stay at the Edgewater since they have hookup and wifi for the boys!  :smt005 I enjoyed the last time I was there for the Fishermans Warehouse tourney.

Edgewater has that nice dock for the boys to fish off as well. Bobbers and minnows.  Fishing should be very good and weather looks good thru Sat - rain currently forecast for Sun-Mon.

There is a tournament this weekend (19-20) and a big tournament 23-25.  Might expect a lot of bass boat traffic on the lake between practice and tournaments from at least later this week thru those dates.

Have fun Jim.
