THE RUSSIAN RAIN DANCE WORKED!!!!! 02-19-07

Well I took off to hit the Russian today, and saw that it resembled the walmart parking lot on welfare day.  It was packed!!!!  I knew that it would be since the fish are stacked in the river, and the water is perfect.  I hit it on Sunday 02-18 and went 1 for 2, with a C&R (Hatchery hen about 7-8 LBS),  I lost a monster hen in the "JELLYFISH" hole... Sean can we just name that hole "JellyFISH" that way we are on the same page.

I talked to a few ole timers and went downstream to fish alone (NOT).  I reached one set of rapids and it had 4 or 5 guys working it hard.  They would walk down to the end of the rapid and wade back up in the middle of the hole, this caused the fish to move up into the slot they were fishing.  They did GOOD...


Anyways.. My first cast into Jelly Hole (or just a bit down from there) I hooked and landed a nice 10 lb hen, loaded with Orange Fishing GOLD (sent from the gods, or maybe just the hatchery)... I gave her the BONK   .  Five minutes later FISH ON again.. I started to watch the crowd of guys move down to me a bit....OH S%!*  I thought....  I lost that one, and a few more long distance hook and releases...  I then hooked a down stream buck which was kinda small about 21 inches.  perfect for the smoker.  Plus I owe the people who give me the river access.  I no sooner get home and Mahi Mahi shows up in my driveway and gives my kid a ticket for no license......  I guess he needed the STATS?

Roe looks GOOD..... REAL.... GOOODD!!!, After the roe, I broke out the NCKA indian candy secret receipe, and added a few goodies..... Wed. Morning its gonna get smoked!!!

You've been on fire this year, I wish I could say the same.  Only 2 so far, both males, no roe.  I need some roe to get on top of things. Nice fish.

thanks guys for the PROPS...Its been a long time coming, I have hung my STEELHEAD hat up a few times, vowing never to put it back on.  Thanks to the fierce competition that SCWAFISH, MAHI MAHI, the SS permission and fishshim (plus many others) bring to the table, I know have the bug again....  It doesn't hurt that its a 3 minute drive to a ranch with private river access, and my boss is a bit of a steelhead junkie himself, thus allowing the occasional (come in late or leave early).
