Was up setting trail cameras at Lake Sonoma today and went by the hatchery to see how the counts were fairing. Turns out they already have 3,279 fish as of a week ago. That's  1000 more steelhead in the system then all of last year. The hatchery people tell me (and I saw) hundreds more steelhead in the system leading to the holding ponds. They expect 600 more each week until the run is done.

The steelhead are in far better shape and much larger than the ones I viewed last year. Maybe the fish stayed out of the river last year due to poor water quality. Hopefully the salmon on the bigger rivers did the same and they are out there swimming around until next year...hopefully.

Wish I hadn't zoom'd in on  the shots as my poor ol Optio just doesn't have the clarity....

I did! Bought Another Pentax Optio W-30..... same as the one I have. Seven year old technology..  Indestructible/Simple/versatile.... unless you blow out the screen leaning back on something while it's in your pocket...been there...done that. Just don't try to super zoom....

Thanks for the report Allen been meaning to get up there. I'm still using the W-30 and waiting for it to die and it just won't  :smt013 Bought it when they first came out and it still keeps on keeping on.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
