In the 2016 Hobie parts catalog the PA H-rails are listed. I went to ACK web site and was able to buy H-rail upgrade kit. I bought the PA-12 upgrade kit. I cut the both rails down to 37-7/8th inches. That lets the rails fit between the built in rod holders on the outboard side of the kayak. I had to remove the rear hatch to give my arm enough room to reach the bolt on the rear rail mount. You can do it by your self if you have long enough arms. I would recommend having help with that part. So one person can hold the bolt and the other person can put the nut on. Other than that it was easy and simple.

Thanks cowman I was trying to go for a factory look. Turned out just how I imagine it would look like.

Very cool, got the look without the weight
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Looks real good. Are those rails secure enough to run down riggers? That would be great, getting them out further and up. I imagine it would be a little easier cranking a lead ball up.

They are damn solid! If I put a down rigger on it. I may put some kind of kicker on the bottom of the outboard side of the down rigger just ensure no twisting. But they should handle a down rigger with no problem.

For got to ask how's cartoping it,the pa has a very flat bottom so I use to top it on its bottom, but I'm sure with an outback your use to toping it upside down

I strap it down in the bed of my truck with the tailgate down. Fits perfectly back there.

Looks pretty slick. Will it hinder your re-entry?

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

I don't think it will. But I will find out when the water warms up.
