I did used Bacon before if that helps LOL.

Don't know if it helps, but I use beef trimmings all the time for crawdads. Let it sit out in the sun in a zip lock for a few days. Try not to puke when you open the bag though, it can get stinky.  :smt078

salmon heads and carcasses if you fillet your salmon work great also nice and oily. only put in traps anymore as I tried in hoops once off a jetty. seals homed in on them and wreaked havoc :smt013

they were using sardines and anchovy in bait cups and little mesh hanging bags and bigger chunks of sand dab heads and frozen rockfish they found in the big freezer---on the charters---mixing bait in bags and cups was their theory that the little crabs cant wipe out the good stuff as quick

cheap as heck at the wharf #2 markets--sardines and chovy etc by the lb...

I've heard that duck carcasses work good too. I shot a couple coots the last weekend of the season to give a try in the crab trap this year.
Mergansers would probably work really good too?

I experienced the duck carcass first hand. i saved a couple teal carcass after breasting out. They worked well for me last weekend.
