The water at Mendo was looking right so I gave it a go.  Finally found some fish and had three fish on briefly...ALL 3 came off :smt013 :smt013  Oh well.  Weather was gorgeous and the lake looks amazing for this time of year.

Normally it isn't fishable because the lake is super muddy, but this year its clear due to the lack of rain.

Is there any truth to mendo being lowered to help flows with the Russian?

Not sure what your referring to...feel like I spend about 90% of my time these days de-bunking myths of the Russian.

The Lake is low, but not unusually low for this time of year.  It is actually high considering the massive lack of rain.  Inflows to the lake will be reduced to help flows on the Eel.  This has been in the works for a while, but the number was recently re-calculated from about 15% to 30 %.  Once the 30% reduction takes place expect the lake to get low, real low, more frequently unless other aspects of its operation are modified.

Just think (Sean)of all the folk lore regarding Loch Ness.  Some poor biologist must get a lot of PM's regarding Nessy....

My bad, I meant the eel.  :smt002    Will the lower lake effect fishing in a bad way? I mean i can imagine it will help
