Anyone familiar with this launch spot in Carmel Bay?  Google maps calls it Whaler's Cove.  Looks perfect for a kayak...

I've never launched there, but it is in the middle of the Pt Lobos SMR so you can't fish there...

You can launch at Carmel River State Beach or Carmel Main beach to access Carmel headlands and reefs if those are your target areas...

I'd only use it to launch a pedal kayak on a big swell day.  And you still need a reservation, so not really worth it.

Is that Point Lobos?

If it is, I've scuba dived from the ramp a couple of times. Never launched a boat from there. I remember the lower section of the ramp was extremely slippery.
