A bit of trial and error, but I finally got there.
No longer does the serving hide the string.

My Bear comp has the same setup. Green and black with clear. The clear serving and whatever they  put on it turns white where the cam stops hit the cables , and around the D loop.

It's actually the exact opposite of what you describe. It turns clear when  they wrap it tight, but where it isn't so tight it's the true color of the serving...white.
I served that string with 30# Berkley FireLine Crystal. The line itself is white, but when you wrap it real tight it turns clear.
I used 20# on the end servings.
Going to lay the buss and control cables tomorrow.
