I stumbled upon an old dump site today while in search for mushrooms in a pretty secluded area. Ive collected many old bottles through out the years. Anyone collect or hunt? I also found some nice candy cap mushrooms and an old cash registers probably from the 60,s or 70,s :smt044 :smt044. Still intact less the drawer. Go figure. :smt009. I have to go back tomorrow with abackpack to haul out the bottles.Registers to heavy.Pics to follow. :smt006

I've always got an eye out for old bottles and jars. Old dump sites are great. Get out your metal detector and look for old silverware too.

We're in a great area up here because of all the mining camps that were everywhere. My favorite find was an ancient 7up bottle in Wyoming at 7000' that was completely buried in sand except for a speck of green. I cleaned it up and it's pristine.

My old lady's boss has a massive dump site from late 1800's to early 1900's on his property that he's barely scraped the surface of and found a dozen intact colored glass jars and bottles, old cans, tools, and other stuff. We're supposed to tractor it up this spring.

For shits and giggles we googled some prices on Ebay. Most are in the thirty dollar range.
