I had a great time at the show on Saturday.I was amazed at how professional eveyones' powerpoint presentations were and what a great group of members we have on this forum.I met Erik,Sean,Mooch,Chuck, scallen, and Mahi Mahi...great guys with a  wealth of kayak fishing knowledge among them.I got some great tips.

It was also cool to meet Dennis Spike and hear about one of my dream trips to Rancho.Seeing a pic of Spike gaffing a white sea bass with a 32" girth he landed at Rancho seven years ago was one of the reasons I took the plunge and got into yakfishing.

I was stoked to pick up my NCKA gaff from Erik. It's perfect! Thanks Erik.

I think you guys did an awesome job representing the sport and I'm glad it is finally getting the recognition and floorspace it deserves. The only problem is that I think I caught a case of "need a new yak" syndrome. :smt002

Hey Chuck . Once again I'm sorry to have missed my seminar yesterday. I was really looking forward to being there. It would seem I was fated not to be at the Fred Hall Show.
Monday morning of last week I had what seem to be an ingrown hair on top top eyelid of my  left eye. It formed into a what look like a pimple( sorry to be so gross) It drained into my eye which got infected. I went to the Doctor. I am now wearing an eye patch to cover my very sensitive eye which due to the prescription eye drops I'm taking which can cause light sensitivity . In other words I' wearing the dam eye patch till the prescription is done. I cannot drive anywhere.
I'm really sorry to Have miss the show.
Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.

Just wanted to say that it was nice meeting a lot of you guys on Saturday.  Mooch suprised me by actually remembering my forum name & avatar, even though we'd never met.  Chuck's crabbing seminar gave me the remaining info I needed to finally get serious about planning a crabbing trip (and thanks for the decal, Chuck...you know, the one I "didn't get")  :smt047  I also picked up a few ideas looking at Insane Duane's awesome setup, although we didn't get an intro.  Sean, I was in the front row enjoying your seminar but didn't get a chance to introduce myself to you either (I was the guy who asked about lighting).  Allen, it was nice seeing you again...hope we can meet up on the water this year soon.  To the several other people whose names I've managed to forget: sorry, I'm like that.  :smt002  Finally, it was good to meet Dennis Spike in person...what a nice guy.  He also has me motivated to head south to fish Baja sometime in the future.

Anyhow, good to meet all of you, and hope we can hook up on the water someday soon!
You don't quit playing because you get old, you get old because you quit playing...
