Looks pretty cool.. I'm not much of a sailer but the idea of a non assisted net is pretty intriguing.

i dont use a net , i just carry one thats always in the way to keep the law man happy ,this would work for me. ive alreaddy cut the handle off and folded it up its pretty much useless as a net but no longer in the way.

That doesn't look like it would work well at all, if you ask me. For me, netting involves three simple things:

-don't stick the net in the water until you are actually scooping the fish

-don't touch the net to the fish until it's AT LEAST half way in the bag

-get that sh*t up and out of the water ASAP once the fish is in it.

This invention fails at all three... Maybe for c&r bass or trout. I think a salmon would laugh at that net then splash you in the face and jump right out.

I kind of think you are right. Once the fish see's the net they go ape shit.

A good size halibut would destroy that net and jump out. Lol. Nice try for innovation but doesn't look practical for the type of fish we are after.
