I got my eye a Casio Men's G9100-1 G-Shock Gulfman for kayak fishing.  Specs say it comes with Moon and Tide information.  Maybe for Christmas or when my 12 year old Casio G-Shock dies.   :smt004

My local Sears and Kohls carries them.  May head head there soon or when my old Casio craps out.  :smt003

Does the watch have a built in GPS receiver? Or do you manually enter your location for tide table?

Don't forget to download a Kohls coupon before you go there ... if you go there.

Price is too low to have GPS.  Manual says :
Moon Data Tide/Moon data lets you view the Moon age and the Moon phase for a particular date, and tidal movements for a particular date and time for your Home Site.

You have to input your coordinates. I have a similar casio. It's the hiker version. No tides, but solar powered, with compass, barometer, thermometer, alitmeter. Can save bearings, see sunrise sunset for any day next hundred years or something. Cool watches. I wear mine every day.

Edit: mine is the Pathfinder model.

I've got a similar one, older, but same sort of stats:  http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0017U1MJU/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=76370505439&hvpos=1t2&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=38060407383961716&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_8yjmbln11q_b

It's cool to have the Moon and Tide features. The compass on mine worked well.  Mine also had temperature, barometer and altimeter built in, but I can only say that I think the Altimeter was useful.  Temperature was reading my wrist temp most of the time.  I have LOVED it for it's features, but it's a big watch and I rarely use it anymore.  I got some funny looks when I'd look at my watch and say "Hey its a full moon tonight!"  :smt044

I have one, I think a Timex, with a solunar feature, which is good for chuckles when I compare what it says to what's happening on the water.  Bulletproof time keeping though.

Would the tides feature be useful for tidal rivers and the delta or just the ocean?
