Jelly has been wanting a yak-drifter that he can use so I made a drop-anchor set up for our Mini-X.  Super simple and SUPER cheap this time around.

I started out with a foot long section of 4" x 0.185" mild steel.  I shaped the end and welded on a chassis tab to function as a line guide...

Drilled holes to line up with the two handle screws, a big hole to clear the drain plug...

I cut the ears off a $4.00 pulley from Tractor Supply Company for the roller.  Way cheaper than the Harkin I used on the first one...

Just need some weather warm enough to get the rattle can out to finish it off.

That came out nice Sean. Now we don't have to hold onto Jelly in the middle of the river!
I wonder if the anchor line can jump the pulley?

That came out real nice. Do I smell steelhead smoking in the background? I can't wait for my Mini X!

CHEERS!

I don't thinks so...the line is still captured in the mounting plate.  The cheapo roller is also nice and deep.  It is very smooth.

Nice job having the wheel easily replaceable. You definitely want to be able to replace moving parts should they become rusty or corroded.

Nope, just using the stock threaded lugs for the carry handle.

:smt003  JK...The bright rope is festive and EZ to see.  All my personal anchor lines are pink!  However Jelly really is colorblind as all get out.
