I decided to spend Black Friday on the water instead of in line at some mall.  Gadgetman joined me at Freeport for some salmon trolling in my non yak boat.  Long story short I scored a 24# king at 10:30 AM and the rest of the day was spent looking for the other 3.  The fish fell to a Brads flatfish in the color “candy corn”.  Here’s a photo…

Backtrolling?
I'm not sure what "back trolling" is but we were just trolling at 2.5 mph with a setback of 100 feet in 15 feet of water.  You need one more post. :)

Ok, backtrolling is common with quickfish and flatfish.  You anchor and let the current work your lure.  I ask because this is a common strategy in Freeport area.  That is an awesome fish!

I have heard (and used) the term back trolling to mean trolling in the current of a river while using your motor to go backwards slower than the current.
"Pedo Viejo" is what Antonio called me.
