Nicaraguan sleigh ride, half-yak

Among the many things that keep kayak fishing interesting is the outside chance of hooking a fish that can pull you around "Nantucket Sleigh Ride" style.  One way to increase the chances of a ride is to fish for tarpon.  And if you keep at it, you can even, er, succeed?  Check out this film I took from my kayak last week on the San Juan River in Nicaragua:

Of course, there's still room for improvements, like breaking 100 pounds, or actually landing the fish from the kayak somehow.  But for now I'm a pretty happy Santiago  .

another place to get tarpon or big shark on a kayak is between big pine and no name key in the florida keys and just the
keys in general.
