Is anyone going to Santa Cruz or half moon bay this Thursday or Friday? 10/22 or 10/23?  I'm looking to go and was hoping there will be other kayakers out.

The forecast doesn't look to good for either day. I was almost considering taking a day off as I could really use some water therapy but yick. 20-30mph tomorrow and huge swell on friday.

Back to the grind...

Not sure where you're getting that forecast from, but here's the NWS forecast for 2 NM SSE of Santa Cruz.

Thursday
Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming W 5 to 7 kt in the afternoon. Mostly sunny. Mixed swell...WNW 2 ft at 9 seconds and SW 2 ft at 16 seconds. Wind waves around 1 ft.

Friday
Variable winds 5 kt or less. Patchy fog before 11am. Mixed swell...WNW 2 ft and SW 3 ft. Wind waves around 1 ft.

It doesn't get much nicer than that...

El Nino can stir some unpredictable mixed up weather let alone 40+ ft waves- just heard that Mavericks is a high possibility early November. Either way paddle with caution.

Haha, I was checking the forecast on my new phone and not sure what happened but...ya, nevermind my last marine forecast. I don't know where the heck that came from. I must have been looking at a forecast for someplace else because the forecast on my bookmarked NWS forecast looks amazing. Cough cough...kinda feeling sick...     ;)
