I'm thinking Russian....san pablo (want to try my new Sonoma Creek launch)...or possibly Stinson perchin (they should be in with great structure now)...
You know we've got a great fishery when you can make the choice of which of four species to target in the middle of winter!

Anyone got any suggestions?

Steve, the Russian's in rare form. Even if you don't get one, it's nice to fish the river when it looks like this...

I agree it hasn't fished this good in 10-15yrs and the fish are big I haven't seen a fish under 10lbs.
The water is pretty clear so downsize your gear, perfect for spoons and spinners.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Steve,

Did you figure out where you want to fish tomorrow (15th)?  I'm planning on making a maiden voyage on the Russian along with Jim "InSeine" in the morning.  We're planning on drifting the stretch between Guernville and Monte Rio in our kayaks.  Hopefully the low flows will allow me to use my non-drift boat anchor without problems.  Basically, we're new to steelhead fishing and have never fished this area despite it being only 20 minutes away for us so unlike Mickfish we won't be able to give you any local tips.
