Well guys-

I don't know what I was thinking but, last night at about midnight, I thought that I'd give it a try. Conditions looked okay... I was the only yakker in sight. I arrived at China as the gates were opened. The morning was cold and windy. And when I say cold... I mean FREEZING. I froze my ass off just getting my boat off of my truck. Luckily for me, I had my farmer in my truck box. That's right, no savage today. Headed out to the honey hole and sat. The wind killed me as much as the cold temps. Got a break in the weather at about 1100am and warmed up enough to defrost my fingers. There was about 15 to 18 PB's on the water all lined up around the pump house. I don't think there were any takers though. I heard somebody yelling for about a minute and that was it. I hooked a couple of schoolie sized stripers and a big bullhead... all on grass shrimp. I had the munchies and reached back into my crate for some gummy bears and then it happened... I got that big pump that I was waiting all day for. I saw my pole go bendo out of the corner of my eye, dropped my gummies and swung for the fences... sorry folks... I struck out. And I dropped most of my gummies to boot. What a day... All of the PBers called it quits at about 1400pm. I figure that it was time. So, I paddled in for a nice knee high mud landing. That was it...

Good luck to all you guys who are going to hit it tomorrow. My guess it that the water temps are too cold or something. I don't know but the sturgies seem to have a little bit of lock jaw right now.

Tight lines,

Freddie
