I know i know there are more important things to give your money to... but I thought with how crazy the internet is maybe something like this could work. So I made a crowdfunding fundraiser to see if I could raise enough to get back my 1942 Willys SlatGrill Jeep. Ohhh she was the love of my life, and it was painful to let her go. Who knows, the internet is a funny place. I just thought I would throw it out there. Dont rip me a new one for being "selfish" or whatever. I just thought it would be worth a shot. the link is below (copy and paste if it isnt hyperlinked)
thanks you guys,

i have found out that with the one that i used to have the overall price of restoring it is going to mostly come from how much of the jeep is going to be the actual original parts. Granted it will be "pretty pricey" to restore it even with reproduction parts... but if you were to actually buy individual parts that were original. THAT is where the deep pockets will come into play. Shoot that 1942 Slat Grill in the pictures had original parts on it that all together were worth more than what i paid for it. I didnt have the time or the tools to piece it out and plus it was still a pretty nice jeep as it stood but to get original parts on it would have set me back many thousands. but damnit, they are beautiful when they are built back with original parts <3

I'm starting a go fund me too.....ever since I seen Sadam hussein's gold plated toilet I shutter everytime I find myself siting over a white porcelain throne.

I think solid gold is a little much to ask for so I'm looking for $7k to at least get my bowl gold plated. If I can get to $9k I'm going to get some sweet filigree engravings and possibly an etching of the virgin mary in the tank.  Thanks for considering.

This one is mostly in pieces and I'm sure it will need some parts along the way.  It is actually "supposed" to be my younger sisters HOWEVER it has been stored here forever and I doubt she, or her husband, will ever get around to doing anything with it or have the tools necessary to perform the restoration.

Make sure you get the title legally and have full understanding before restoring it.....families have imploded for less.

Especially that BIL.  I never really trusted him anyway.

Trust me, I'm trustworthy  :smt002 :smt003

Honestly, I'm not EXACTLY sure WHOSE name is on the title right now.  It was gifted to my family from my dad's former boss.  He used it a LOT in Arroyo Seco.  While he is still alive, I guess I should get a good look at the title in the event it needs to be transferred.

At the Original 16 to 1 mine a few years ago, there was a crew cutting tiles, 2"x 3/8" of the quartz with gold vein. These tiles were for an Arab Sheik's bathroom. That shit had to cost a fortune...... :smt044

Stayed at the Palace in SF this weekend.  Fanciest toilet ever.  Wasn't gold but was decked out with all kinda electronics, heated seat, customizable wash/spray options, a blow dryer.  Impossible to overstate user glee, especially if experiencing a case of chorro.

So, this lady is pregnant and homeless. A victim of the Valley Fire who seems to have a fantastic attitude , here is a link to her go fund me page. Unless of course you mean you'll let her live in your Jeep.

no no no--this thread gives 'ME' the Willys

It won't really work ... not here at NCKA.
