"One in three young adults with autism have no job experience. The National Foundation for Autism Research Technical Training Program (NFAR Tech) aims to improve these odds through a pragmatic, hands-on approach to Software QA Testing - including critical social skills development.

James would have been ideal as a peer mentor at this program co-taught by a Cal Poly Pomona Computer Science graduate. He would have been giving back - an NFAR grant sponsored the Coping Cat program that started James' journey towards happiness and social acceptance.

Thanks to the generosity of our dear friends at the Albion Open Kayak Fishing Tournament, on Friday we presented $2,500 to NFAR Tech. NFAR puts their money where it can do the most good - to directly improve the lives of those with autism. For more info, visit www.NFAR.org.

James' photo will soon hang on the NFAR Tech lab wall. We hope his enthusiasm will inspire the participants, whose numbers include a friend.

Thank you Craig Davis for this incredible gift!"

This is from Paul Lebowitz who was given $4,000.00 from the Albion Open coffers this year. You all make me very proud. Through giving we have once again showed our faith in humanity and acknowledge that giving is a grace bestowed on us from a higher place. To all that contributed this year all I can say is WOW! I love you all. Craig

Then this today from Paul. Amazing stuff here. Helping heal grief and supporting those who need it.

"James visited his high school today with a gift for the Circle of Friends social inclusion program. He went from unwilling freshman participant to a senior club officer, confident and happy. Thanks to the generosity of Craig Davis, and the Albion Open Kayak Fishing Tournament, Scripps Ranch High School students will have a better, more inclusive Circle of Friends.

And at the end of the school year we'll award modest grants in James' memory to two special needs students and one general population club member, rewarding hard work and kindness and maybe helping to grow this wonderful program."

"Craig, today I delivered $500 to Circle of Friends at James' high school. If they run through it, I'm holding another $500 for them. The new speech therapist (so fresh faced he looks like he could be a high school student) didn't want more. We set up a scholarship / grant for the end of the year. Special needs kids are under represented in end of year awards but no less deserving of recognition and esteem. We will also reward one of the high performing general ed students. James still has friends at Scripps Ranch. Thank you for this opportunity to do good in his name. Sue and I will continue to support the program into the future. You've allowed us to start a year earlier"

This is a private message to me that I wanted to also share with you. Only with all your support this year this happened. All that worked on this in my absence I want to send you a special thanks from myself and Linelle. You all are amazing!!!!!!

Bittersweet, some good coming from something so sad :smt010 making a difference threw service to others can give you joy in the times of darkness. With my Autistic daughter turning 18, the fight just to find help or services all these years has been hard and at times Impossible. He was an example she can follow.
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Much love friends. You are amazing. I could never thank you enough for your generosity.

Weimarian, regards to you and your daughter. It isn't easy. We just have to love our beautiful autistic kids and fight for them. They are worth it.

This is amazing! I had no idea that this was something the group was supporting. My 3 year old Finn was recently diagnosed as autism spectrum disorder.  I am so moved to see people making an effort to make a difference. Truly wonderful
