The Bay was in its "whipped coco mode" this weekend,so I hit the local pond in the frozen early morning 7am.
Trolled for Mt.Lassen trout for the first hour or so  :smt012 NO LUV!

The lake is linned with tullies and cover and it's very difficult to keep trolling while paddling past "prime BASS realestate"

My first hungry participant was this 20" Beast!  If the casted lure dosen't fall within inches of the tullie-curtain...it's a waste of time..

And then this 17" just had to try to GULP an easy meal too?...Surprize!!

Could have had a THIRD!....I fought it!!...it went under!!.....it came back and "popped an airial!!"  I could see it was a biggun',so I switched into "photog-mode" pulled out the camera and prepaired for below surface opprotunities, when I see this things "flared-out gills" and "wide-open mouth" under the water and wonder...what the hell??? as it coughs-up my whole senko and didn't even disengage the weedless guard over the hook?!?! It must have had it in its gut and expeled it untouched!!  they told me they were smarter that the averange bass...and now I BELIEVE!!

Way to go FisHunter!

What was the water surface temp? I was chasin bass up at my home lake yesterday. The surface temp was 47*, and I was catching fish at 35-40' on drop shot worms. But maybe I really should have tried the weed beds in 10' of water where all the Mergansers were congregating.

Regards,
Scott

Adam -

Nice report and fish. What setting do you use on your optio to get those cool underwater shots? I havent had much luck with my optio for underwater shots.

Terry~ all on Wacky-style..I tried to jig up a few from the depths...no luck and got frustrated..whaa!

Scott T.~ i saw some at those depths, but thet wont bite! my transdcr. was reading 52 ish temp.(in hull) the sunlit tullies warm-up fast (I guess)

GB~ I've got it set on AUTO,just stick it under and click! put the camera just under the surface (away from sun/pic is bad if shooting up into sun)and pull the fish CLOSE, into the area where the camera is. EASY! yea?   I haven't tried the other settings yet.

I also sized-down the pics/files,but they seem to not show. All resent posts w/pics are coming out the same way.NO PIC??

Great fish Adam, Bill Dance would be proud! Great pics too, are you using an optio? Thats what I just got and LOVE it! I use the macro setting in the focus mode for tiny subjects, I supose you dont need that with those big 'ol bass. Im still experimenting with all the settings.

Ben, Best $300.oo I ever spent!! I haven't tried any other settings yet....next is gonna be the "constant flash pics. underwater" it will shoot one pic after another while holding the button down.As soon as I got it on the hook,I'm gonna drop it in the water and shoot it like a automatic weapon :smt005

Al~ thanks for the pic. upload!    man, ever since that " senko 101" lesson at R.S. you gave me,I kept that confidence and have been applying it where ever I fish!! :smt008
