12/26 Met up with a new fishing buddy, Ken from Puerto Vallarta and drove out to Pta de Mita, then up to Litibu beach with Prowler 13's.  Surf was 6 - 7 feet so launch was out of the question. Drove back to the Pta De Mita cooperative harbor and spent the rest of the morning drinking Pacificos and fishing within a mile or so of the harbor - Problems with fishfinder, so fishing blind.  Caugh a couple of small triggers, several puffers and a small flag cabrillo.  but the beer was good.  Decided to try again on the 31st so drove out to Litibu but the surf was still way to spooky for us so back to Mita, this time to fish south of the harbor.  Brought baitcasters to throw plastics, and light spinning rod.  Had several nice sierra circle the Kayaks, and saw lots of Toro (Jack Cravalle) but neither were hungry.  I'm convinced that a fly rod with a small streamer would have enticed the sierra, but had neglected to bring them along.  Pacifico's were good though!  Spoke with a Panga driver who had been out south of Mariettas the day before, fishing small jigs, and killing the Cabrilla, including some 5 and 6 pounds.  Maybe next time.  Life is good.

Probably won't be back until April, then again in mid summer when it is really hot and humid - but the best fishing.  I'll post when I'm sure - always interested in a fishing buddy
