You might try asking at Aquarium/Pet Stores if they have some from their fish shipments.  Might be free.

Generally the company that delivers the fish require their containers in return.  All you need is a reasonable foam container & some dry ice.  Good for a few days at least.  This is how the "ship-a-steak" places do it.  I kept a few of those foam containers around for years, and they worked REALLY well, but I finally tossed them all out.

Hi Krusty,

I have a couple of foam containers that came when I bought several salmons from fish wholesaler. The containers are long and narrow. It is for shipping whole salmons you can imaging the shape. It will hold 3-4  12 lb salmons plus ice.

If they are the right size you can have them free. I live in San Ramon.

Ask them at the Foodmaxx there. We get fish in on Fridays and we don't send the foam back.

I've got a couple you can have, without going to the garage to measure them, I'd say they were 12X16X18, They were live fish shipping containers, styrofoam inside a cardboard box, made for shipping.
