Does any one know of a campground  that is located closer to Coyote Park Recreation Area then the campground at Lake del Valle, preferably one located on a lake?

Is NorCal Kayak Anglers  sponsoring a Kayak Fishing Derby at the Bay Area Paddlefest  in 2007?

Don't know on the paddlefest yet. If we are invited back we will be there.

I am pretty sure there are campgrounds at Del Valle proper. I think there are boat in ones as well.

Sky   Lake Chabot has a campground its about 30-45 mins from Coyote. Never stayed at the capmgrounfd its a nice lake with a fair amount of traffic. Joggers Fisherman no power boats or swimming.  http://www.ebparks.org/parks/anchabot.htm  Might be someplace in the Santa Cruz Mountains I'm sure somebody that knows that area will chime in.I'm sure Mooch knows a place to stay :smt004.

I didn't go to Paddlefest last year but the Tourney was a huge success and I sure it will happen again. Couldn't find the dates but if we ever find ChuckE he would be the man to know.

Thanks for posting all those great lakes now I am stir crazy until snowmelt, got any at a lower altitude? I used to spend a lot of time at Lewiston did you see the Bald Eagles Fishing, how did you like the swimming :shaking2:  Happy New Year
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Memorial and Portola Redwoods parks up in La Honda might be the closest camping, but I wouldn't put money on it unless I got great odds. About half an hour away, and it's a different world up there, compared to the rest of the Bay Area.

Regards,
Scott

Half Moon Bay State Beach (650) 726-8820

- for those who want to be closer to the epic Linda Mar Salmon season
- HMB kayak crabbing / poke poling / rock fish opener
- surfer dudes

Ocean front camp sites / bathrooms and plenty of parking. Only 52 campsites (call for reservation). Walking distance golf range. Safeway, gas station, HMB Main Street and restaurants all within a mile!
Unfortunately, the beach kayak launch is TOUGH - BIIIG SURF!

camp site # 36,37,38,34,32,30,28,26,24,22,19,17, and 16 are the best - closer to the shoreline! I believe dogs are allowed as well.

The site is located a couple of blocks South of HWY 92 - off HWY 1.

It's only about 20 minutes to Coyote Point (if you leave HMB before 8AM)
