I added a Scotty flush mount to the rear cup holder in my 2013 Hobie Adventure (pre-Revolution 16). That cup holder is totally useless to me, and it looks like they've removed it from the Revolution 16.

I've seen ram balls or Scotty compact (threaded) mounts installed in cup holders, but I haven't seen the standard Scotty flush mount, although I'm sure somebody has done it. In any case, it's pretty easy, and here's some pictures in case you want to give it a try.

The first picture shows the view from the rear of the kayak. As you can see, I've got no shortage of Scotty mounts (including one in each side pocket). The forward ones are used mostly for fishfinder, downrigger, etc., while the one near where my right elbow rests is where I put my rod holder. But, when using two rods, I had to put one in a forward mount, and getting the rods in and out of rocket launchers in those positions is hard on my wrist and elbow. So, I decided to add a flush mount in the cup holder. The pictures tell the story (not pictured is a starboard plastic backing plate).

Unfortunately, I accidentally cut one of the rudder lines when drilling, and that's why I'm at home on this fine Saturday morning instead of fishing...

Is the flush mount sealed at the bottom??
Could pose a problem if it's not.
