Meet my new grandson and future fishing buddy.

Born December 11.  Son and daughter-in-law reached way back in their English heritage for a name and came up with:  Digby!  I've been thinking about nicknames for the past week.  Favorite so far:  "Puff Diggy."  Other suggestions?

Hot Diggity!  Congradulations Randy
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

What a wonderful holiday gift!!!!

Congratulations.  I always recommend watching the little tykes grow up and nickname them as is appropriate.  I've seen too many nicknames not fit with personality if they are given too soon.

Time to start the spoiling!!!

Congrats !

My son's gone through about 3 nicknames so far, and he's not yet 4 months old. Eventually one will keep :)

Thanks for the congrats guys.

Marmot, the only reason there's no rod in his hand is he's in New York.  I'll be able to start  some bonding in a few weeks.

In fact, I was planning his first custom rod last weekend when Pat reminded me not to make it too fancy so I won't  be so disappointed when he throws it down to go study a bug.   :smt005

Randy,

I was thinking of something along the lines of a real simple, yet nice, spincast setup for James. Call it a deluxe "Snoopy" rod. Something that even a child that can barely tie his shoes could possibly use. Food for thought?

Regards,
Scott

Randy, studying the bug only means he's trying to "match the hatch"  :smt002 He may just be a future fly-fisherman  :smt003

Scott -  Thanks for the spincaster idea.  Perfect for a young 'un.  And it'll be my first chance to build a spincast rod.  I'll have to start looking around for a brightly colored spincaster to match the rod to.

Mooch - Good thought!  Bug viewing as a learning tool to enhance later fishing experiences.  Can't wait to take him squid viewing  :smt003
