From a comment
"This record is actually held by a Swedish guy name Joel. Last year he caught a Fish (from a kayak!) that weighed 1250 lbs (566kg). Length=4.01m Circumference= 2.02m. So this grouper is a baby next to it.
Action starts at ~25min, and some amazing footage at ~37min.

Is everyone so trusting? I haven't seen enough in that grouper video to be convinced. It's a little too pat for my skeptical mind. I've seen questionable / stunt video of kayaks and Goliath grouper in the past. To be fair, I haven't tried to contact either the video producer or angler. I did hear some scuttlebutt (I want to stress, unconfirmed) that casts doubt on this video.

I heard no scuttlebutt about this video, but (butt), I'm calling no dice.  Same thing with the recent shark video I think these are the same guys....A close examination of both vids may reveal the exact same mullet on one of the surrounding PB's.....

I think those guys are hooking the big fish on PB, then putting someone in a kayak to "fight" it.
