Take Meyers Grade and either come down Ft Ross Road if heading to the fort or take Timber Cove road if heading to TC or north. Not much time difference.

Will the delays be so long that it warrants taking that alternate route?

Yup. You'll wait in line long enough that you'll start to debate with yourself whether it would have been quicker to get out and cart your kayak to TC or the Fort.

Using Meyers Grade to Ft Ross Road to Seaview to TC is almost as fast as HWY 1  and when fog is thick on HWY 1, Meyers is faster once you climb out of the fog.

Why the rush?  If you want to arrive at specific time, plan on being stopped, leave earlier.  Enjoy the view.  "Haste makes waste."

Or just go around and don't idle in a line for half an hour.......after fishing for 6 hours in the sun and waking up at 4 a.m.  those things all add up to a sleepy drive home.

Isn't driving while sleepy as dangerous has driving drunk?
