Well the port kicked out its usual stripers and crappie as well as a nice evening on the water.

I had a good time. I caught 4 Stripers, 1 was a keeper. It was great weather. A slight breeze and flat water. A beautiful night to be on the water.

+1 on the great night!  :smt007 80 deg water :smt004 1 perch, 10 SMALL bass (2-6") 1 10" crappie, 2 striper 17 and 19" action wasn't fast and furious but I did manage to spool ALL my bait casters  :smt013 and develop a bad case of turrets syndrome :smt076 (sorry for the rage monster guys) Had to finally leave at 12:00 and made it home reeking of anchovy  :smt078(drove with windows down) while writing this, still smell fish?!!??!! 2 showers and multiple hand washings later.... evidence still there. :smt044 Off to find breakfast! have a great day and GO FISH!!!!!! probably going up hill to Lake valley reservoir to chase trout or returning home after hash browns to sleep :fat been an awesome week of fishing and Ibuprofin is on the breakfast menu :drool

I had a good time.

Fishdog and I were looking for topwater action and fell short, but there was good convo and the water was great.

It's okay Weimarian, I got a case of rage at the launch on the way out cause my cart  wouldn't cooperate.

Thanks Abdiver for helping me out  :smt005

See y'all next time.

What a Fun night last night. Weather was pretty good overall with a lil wind blowing but managable. Great to see a lot of NCKA otw. Met some new bros too. A lot of Sac fisherman on yaks these days. :smt001 Me and Joe didnt arrive to the port till 715. got otw around 745 or so to a nice High Tide with good clean water. Had trouble finding the bait but eventually found them a lil further down the channel in cleaner water. I caught 2 before it was too dark too see our bobbers. No keepers for me this time. Tons of Diaper Stripers all over the port right now which I think made it a lil difficult to find the bigger fish. they were boiling frequently and around and under the lights. Throwing a white crappie jig was deadly for the lil stripers all night. Some of the other guys caught a few legal fish tho. The Highlight of the night for me was when i caught another rat striper on my UL setup and as I almost got it into the boat a Bigger (6-8lb) striper comes out of No Where and starts to chase my lil striper.  :smt007..I immediately free spooled the lil striper and the Bigger One eventually got a hold of it. I let it run and followed it after about 20 secs and let the rod load up. The 4lb. test line snapped immediately after too much tension. DARN! Oh well, it was pretty kool to see that bigger striper eat that lil one. Now I know Bigger Stripers will eat lil stripers!! :smt005   Water Temp was a Hot 79-80 on top. Overall, it was a good fun night at the port. If your looking to get some otw therapy and want to escape the heat, night time fishing the Port is not a bad bet. Get out there and get some.

I got my stripers last night on a 5-1/5" Pearl #55 Big Hammer with a white lead head. I missed a bunch of drive-by schoolies but that's the name of the game.

Quality over quantity-
