Happy Hollidays NCKA :smt006,

I'm going to Inverness from the 27th to New Years. Have plans to take a few family members out kayakfishing, hook up with some squid and do some sharkin ( catch and release of course ) and throw a crabtrap. Any advice as species to target and how, and any advice as places to launch...Thanks.... :smt002....Danglin :smt002

I would recommend a holiday roast on a large hay hook fixed to a heavy chain leader tied to an old wooden pier.

If you get really bored you can always target stripers and sturgeon. Both are in there, but you rarely hear of either being caught.

My buddy caught a few nice stripers down by Millerton Point (south bay) and I've seen quite a few sturgeon jumping out there, but that was a few months ago.

Anyway...you're already out there now probably....lol.

Good luck!

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

I've caught halibut out there for years, but only in the summer. Don't think there's any this time of the year. I launch at Mick's cove.
