Slept in later than I wanted, and knew I'd pay.  Launched around 11 to a nice 8mph wind.  Trolled around with no luck, tossed some anchovies and snagged a small striper and a small cat. Heading back with the tide I turned into a lovely 16mph headwind.  It was a bit rough and wet, but always fun.  Will these winds ever take a break...or at least when I am out for once.

I see you're from Fairfield.  So a 16 mph wind is something you may be used to.  I went to Montezuma slough and experienced the same thing and was a little freaked out.  If I wasn't actively paddling the wind was blowing me fast like I had a sail or something!  I stayed close to the bank to minimize the wind and chop.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

I'm definitely used to the winds around here, just recently started kayaking so the winds have tested me right off the bat.  I tend to find a wind break and anchor and cast from there, but it can keep you out of some good spots.  The wind this years seems to me more constant that it has been in the past.  Usuall low in the am and picks up later, but now it just doesn't let off.  I am looking to branch out to new places, maybe not the ocean yet, not really set up for it, but would like to explore.
