Bass Pro Shop coming to San Jose

I like Bass Pro Shop. But I am not going to forget about Mel Cottons, Fishermans warehouse and especially Coyote Bait and Tackle Denise and been a great friend to me and my family. These mom and pop shops are the most important to me.

Is Bass Pro Shop a good store?

I live in San Jose and there is a huge new building at Highway 85 and Almaden Expressway that says Bass Pro Shop coming soon.

I've never visited a store since there wasn't one close by.  Should I be excited for this new store?

I hope you give these small shops a chance also.

I like the mom and pop stores. I been going to them for as long as i could remember. I stop at Coyote Bait and Tackle two, three times a week since its on the way to work. The gentleman by the name, No'E always have a fresh pot of coffee brewing and its free
I will go to the New Bass Pro Shop when it opens to check it out. But I'll be more intrested in the Archery stuff

That is so odd for two BPS's to be so close to each other. I know the Dallas area has a large population but so does Houston, which does not have a BPS.

I posted about this about 8 months ago. I believe they will have a bowling alley if my memory serves me correctly. But then again Im drinking this in a hammock 

Nice.  Recently discovered Drake's taphouse in San Leandro.  Awesome place.

 
  Bass Pro shops are "Redneck churches"  I love the eye candy in the stores!  My first experience walking into one was " I've entered Redneck heaven!    I left drool all over the tracker boats! Was kind of embarrassing.  The big aquarium is mesmerizing!

  Definitely leave your wallet hidden away in your car for your first visit!

Beware BPS is not as sportsman friendly as you think, the folks who work there are okay. But corporate sucks.  Saw favorite Pro Mar 102 crab traps were selling $20 over what Hi's tackle sells them for.  Kayaking stuff is on par with big 5. Look at the boat they sell in Manteca, if it is not a bass boat your after don't bother looking.  Small Skiff type boats, notta. Ammo, yeah if it isn't the regular stuff, don't bother looking.  Reloading supplies yeah we have some, just not what you are looking for.  I prefer a lot of other smaller shops.

Don't get me wrong, they have a lot nice stuff from China in there.  But few real deals.
