Kids Fishing Derby and Clinics for 2015

Do you know of a local fishing derbies or clinics happening this year? I've been searching online, for local fishing derbies and clinics, so I can take my kids fishing more often. Sharing the info for those dads, uncles, and grandpas out there who'd like to do the same. 


May 9, Travis AFB, Fairfield. Registration is through Travis AFB's Youth Program but the actual fishing is on Cypress Lakes Golf Course pond.

May 9 Howe Park, Sacramento. Fishing Clinic

May 24, Lake Hennessey. Annual George Carl Kids Fishing Derby

May 30, Lodi Lake. I got this info from Terri Lovell, who works for the City of Lodi. Can't find any other info on this online to confirm.

June 20, Lake Solano Park

June 20, Hagan Park, Rancho Cordova. Fishing Clinic

July 25-26, Lake Solano Park (2 day kids Camp)

Aug 11, Kids Day on the Bay (for 10-12 kids with special needs)

There is also C.A.S.T. for Kids. A foundation that provides fishing and boating events for kids with special needs. This looks like a great event! Volunteer opportunities are also available.

Another free community event, this long-standing tradition began 45 years ago to introduce the sport of fishing to young people. Today, it has blossomed into a day of good–old fashioned family fun. Children ages 3-16 have from 6:00 until noon to catch the biggest fish they can. Club members and other volunteers are on hand to help less experienced fishers. Prizes are given for different age groups and different species of fish and EVERY child goes home with a prize for participating.

Thanks! I had to search for this. Found some info/article about the previous years but nothing for this year. Finally found the club that hosts this event.
