Hi guys i got a few hours before going to work on Saturday. I work in the peninsula, so oyster point is an near and easy. Never fished the bay on a kayak before, but i have fished off the piers, especially oyster point. Last time i was there, pier fisherman were pulling up a few 30lbers, but that was in october.

What should i expect from this loacation as far as navigation, tidal drift, etc. Weather looks decent.

Secondly, anyone fish here recently have any reports?  Im trying for halibut and/or striper.

Never caught a halibut before, so would appreciate any tips on rigging. Heard trolling a 3 way rig would work. Im thinking two hooks, one with anchovy, other being maybe a swimbait.

Bounce ball method maybe? What size weight?

Another question i have is: when kayakers say "trolling" how does that work if not using a downrigger? Is there such thing as trolling without downrigger? If so, how do you set up your rig?

If all else fails maybe will go for some leopards.

Im trying to hookup with someone who willl be willing to launch with me around 7am, finish 1pm at the latest. Im still a newb, this will be my 2nd time fishing salt (1st was at mkb last week), if i cannot find a partner, i may just fish from pier.

Current is pretty good at max ebb and watch for the wind as it tends to come out of the west and push you away from shore.
