Got off work this morning and made the hour and a half drive to Lodi to talk to the guys and demo a bunch of yaks. It was actually my first time in any kayak but Dan and his guys were very helpful and informative. I decided to pull the trigger on a Kilroy, I'm going to pick it up Wednesday.  Also tried some more bay/ocean yaks and man that Eddyline Caribbean 14 is sweet. Great event, hope this becomes an annual festival.

I got there Friday night to camp.  Most excellent facility!  Dan came over just to say hi and chatted a bit on his fat tire bike.  Saturday was the bass tournament and I spent the morning fishing and meeting a lot of other kayakers.  One in particular, a Lodi local name of Shawn, who also has a Hobie PA, was pretty excited to hear about NCKA. He got into kayak fishing a couple months ago and none of his other fishing buddies will hang with him now.  Ha!

A great day to be on the water with so many.

I was there with my girlfriend. It was a great event! Everyone from headwaters was super friendly and helpful! We test ride everything there.

Our initial plan was for my GF to get some good seat time in a Jackson cuda 12. She then fell in love with the cuda 14 after using both extensively. I also fell in love with that kayak! Now we need to save our pennies.

Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Stoked that this even happened in my home town. Sounds like Dan put on a great event. I love seeing the sport growing in the valley. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend due to the wife still recovering from delivery complications. Looking forward to the event growing next year. Lodi can really rally around a community event like this.

Yea I hope Dan and the city make this a new spring tradition. I don't see why they wouldn't, it sure did seem very successful. On a lighter note, I did see one guy go in the drink, attempt to self rescue then fall right back in on the other side. I grabbed his paddle and me and some people on the huge SUP gave him a hand back in.
