Last year some thing tore my garden apart.  This year I secured the perimeter but I'd like to find out if there is still anything out there thinking of messing with my veggies.

If there is something out there I'd like to know what I'm dealing with, my guess so far is raccoon and skunk.

I'm thinking of putting up a game cam but don't know anything about them.I don't really plan on using it much but I also don't want to buy the cheapest thing on the shelf...just in case I become a hunter or decide to do something more interesting with it.

What would you suggest as a good value  camera? What features should I be looking for?

I'm thinking of heading to Bass Pro tomorrow to take a look around unless there is somewhere closer to Mountain View where I can take a look at them.  Would Mel Cottons have a descent selection?  Are there any other shops?

The Primos 35 is a sweet camera. Video and stills. Around 75 bucks on Amazon. Great camera for the money.

I have a Moultrie DP-55 and it's served me well so far.  It's overall package is pretty small, ((Maybe the side of 2 paperback books stacked?) it does both photos and video separately or together.  Uses 6 C-cell batteries and in photo only mode will last about 2-3 months.  Videos use more juice so battery life is shorter.  It was $75 through BPS or just about $100 shipped(Tax, license, dock fees, governor's barber fees etc..)
It's sensor range is pretty good also!  Range at which it detects movement.  I like have mine set up.  After I put my first one up ( the Moultrie) was about 2 weeks then I got this kitty in my yard!  Wasn't expecting to see THAT!  I knew that ML were in my area, with in miles, but in my friggin yard?
Most of the critters my cameras catch do hear the camera.  I guess the shutter makes enough sound that makes them all pose.
My second camera is a Primos trail cam 35.  I'm finding it's not as sensitive at night time as my Moultrie is, but it still catches the odd skunk now and then.
