Very cool video Ethan and Chaeki. Do you mind sharing you recipe for smoked rockfish? I have an electric smoker, looks similar to yours. What temp do you aim for and for how long? Thanks a lot.

Jason/Recon
We are new to this ourselves, for the picture we did the following:

brine:
1 gallon water
1.5 cups of kosher salt
1.5 cups of dark brown sugar

stir until dissolved, put in fish with brine in either a plastic bucket or glass bowl and put in the fridge for 12-18hrs.  If you have no room then ziplock removing the air.

next day remove and rinse with water, pat dry and let it air dry for about 1hr.

we smoked at 225 with alder wood for about 3hrs.

pull back the skin and enjoy the yummy fish!!!! tip: eat faster than the kids

NCKA kids day for sure!  Much more fun when the kids can play together.

What a great way to spend the day with your son!  You are a smart and lucky guy!

After skunking the salmon opener we decided to go for rockfish during Ethan's spring break.  The ramp at the coast guard pier was closed off with a bunch of sea lions, so we carried the yak over to the beach side to launch.  The beach was nice and calm that morning with the wind picking up in the afternoon.  We were able to both catch about 3 rockfish in the shallows, then called it for a day.  It was time well spent together just hanging out father and son.

Chaeki,
I'm a huge fan of your youtube videos.  Glad to see you posting more.  Let me know when you are going next as may be interested in joining you.

Ethan,
Keep up the good work on your youtube channel.  I hope to see some more fishing reports from you!

Thanks,
JimmyD
