It only took me about seven years of lurking the NCKA and visiting kayak shops before finally getting on the water. Relocating a few times and the birth of my daughter slowed me down. I had a new Caribbean 14 in the garage last year ready to go but after a few reports last year, I learned that I didn't have the cajones to have any type of dealings with landlords. I grew up fishing LMB so I decided to head that route. There's always been something about catching those little green fish with those big ole mouths. So the Caribbean got sold to Rock Hopper and I picked up a 2015 Outback. I lost my a$$ pretty good on the Caribbean but I'm happy and hopefully Dustin is enjoying the Carribean or was able to find it a new home. So for Good Friday which is a union holliday for my trade, I met up with some friends from work that had decided they were gonna fish Del Valle. It was a beautiful day, water was clear. Saw schools of carp everywhere. I learned a lot my first trip. Especially what not to do and how I want to rig the yak further. Buddies were in a rental boat with no action. It was a one bite one fish day for me. Little guy went 13" and saved me from a zero on my maiden voyage. Senko fish. The madness is awesome!!! I'm loving it! Can't wait to get back out there.

Way to jump on it.  You are gonna love the Hobie outback for fishing, although that Carribean is one fine paddle kayak.  You should head out to the Delta, Stockton area for more bass fishing.

Sorry for the sideways pic. I believe it's an iPhone thing or just that I don't know what I'm doing. I definitely plan on hitting the delta. I've got a house in Brentwood, I've been scouting launch spots out there. (Big break, sugar barge, Russo's) I'm not very familiar with the Stockton area. I'd feel better running with someone else or a pack in the delta. Too many nooks and crannies for the event that something went wrong on the solo and I'm a newb to the delta. I've only fished it a hand full of times from powerboats. I've been trying to recruit friends into getting on yaks or I plan on scoring with member hook ups when I can. I'm a believer in safety in numbers. Always learn more with others and cover more water and find a pattern quicker. I'll see ya out there soon. Lets see if this pic is sideways.... It's a closer shot so it looks to be almost three pounds instead of barely two. Lol.

Go to the App Store and get one of the free aftermarket camera programs. The stock camera program on iPhones have a glitch that doesn't accurately record the camera's orientation when taking a picture.  It'll look right in your gallery on the phone but other computers won't display it correctly (upside down, on its side, etc.) Getting a new app almost always solves the issue.

Nice bass though !

Congrats on your new ride and your first fish on the yak. I'm sure there will be plenty more to come.

Lol. I'm not super into phones or computers. And since I've learned that I need an app to make sure my pics are right side up and this info frustrates me, It may just mean a sony asv100 or go pro will be in order sooner than i thought.
