Strap Keepers for Prowler

I was tired of the straps on the front hatch of my Prowler slapping on the roof of my truck, and I didn't want to trim them down cuz I know as soon as I cut the extra length off, I'll need it for lashing something down on the deck of my yak.  So I made some keepers out of an old mountain bike inner tube.  I cross cut the tube making 1 1/2" thick rubber bands; threaded them through the buckles; and then passed the tag ends of the straps through the band a couple times.  This neatly fastened down the slack makes extending the straps a snap by simply tugging the end of the strap

Good idea!  I have an extra tube lying around too!

Could you post a photo of this? I'm not clear on how you attached the rubber bands to the strap.

It's a little easier if you take the buckle off first.

Joe,Your pics are not going through,I had this same problem and was told to: size down the file(pic) and it worked.You have an option on your camera or you have to do it in the computer.Not to sure about How-to though.
