my old hullavator, one of the original models, is just about done.  it has been welded, painted, coerced and so on...
do the new ones come in different sizes or is the "897" model the new standard?
need to fit on my Yakima rack, wide kayaks, prowler and  AI.

The original model was 897, eventually replaced by 897XT. One of the issues with the 897 was, while latched in the down position for loading, the latch did not always hold and some owners experienced a bit of chin music. The 897XT works with both Thule and Yakima racks.
