Just Curious to know if anyone using an app? I know signals can be an issue on phones, but I check the Polaris Navigation seems pretty nice alternatives.

I've heard that the $10 Navionics App is pretty darn good.  I'm planning on downloading it this weekend as a backup.

Navionics is awesome i use it constantly for figuring distance, and navigating designated trolling depths....

I love the navionics app.

Don't ask me how I know this, but make absolutely sure that you use it to scout before you go fishing. If you fail to do that, you might find yourself without the maps downloaded for the area you are fishing.

+2 on the Navionics app.  I have been using it for a few years now.  A buddy and I  had to use it to get back into Humboldt bay through the bar while halibut fishing.  The fog came in thick and the gps got us back with no problems.

I used it yesterday when I confirmed that my second battery  won't hold a charge for more than 10 minutes and I was 3+ miles offshore in thick fog.
