I must be stupid or something...

I can not get the search feature to work as I would think it would. 

I'm trying to find posts I've made in various topics and can't. 

For example;
I know I've posted in the GS9 thread and I've tried searching for all posts made by me in that thread.  I get a bunch of hits, and maybe even some of them ARE in the GS9 thread, but it's not what I was hoping to get.  I just want those posts I've made in a specific thread. 

Perhaps there is a tutorial someplace I can use?

I think you can only search a particular forum (Events...) or the entire site.

If you can narrow down the date when you think you made the post then you could search your own posts...

You can select Profile from the header. Then under your photo, select "Show Posts."  It should give you all the posts you've ever made... not very specific but I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

I have done that, but a post from months ago isn't every efficient that way. 

I've tried the advanced search, specifying me as the author and specific words that I would have used in a post.  A whole lot of posts that don't have the specific words pop up and perhaps even the post I'm looking for, but still far too many to try and weed through. 

Oh well.. 

I finally found what I wanted after reading through 8 pages of posts to find the one I was interested in finding.
