Flag making entertainment

I've been looking for a flag to make that indicates I can't hear people over radio / loudspeaker / from a distance. This is what my friend came up with.

I also like the idea of writing it on the kayak in big letters-or is that stupid---like 4-6" letters  above the water line in the front tip---'DEAF' or DEAF GUY with a smiley face or some shit...so folks who paddle up to you from an angle know not to keep yelling hello or think your being a dick and ignoring them,even though with me I know your ignoring me...
