I am selling my yum-yum yellow Hobie Adventure Island. I put it on Craigslist at $2500, have had a few nibbles, but today I put my down payment on my 2015 AI (mainly because I'm 6'3" and the sail is a little low on my AI for me) and I am ready to go pick it up! Not until I sell the old one. I bought it used last year, it only had one owner and it sat either in or on the side of a fresh-water lake it's whole life. It looked fresh out of the plastic when I got it! Well, I did one rockfish season with it, so it doesn't really look like that anymore, but it's never been against the rocks and it's always been handled with care. Always rinsed as soon as I got home/to a hose. Always been stored in my garage up-side down while my car sits in the driveway (a man's gotta have his priorities!).

I'd be willing to let it go to an NCKA brother for $2200 WITH my Rollez wheels (generic Wheelez, but the friggin things work great!). It's rigged with a 6" Yakattak rail that I use for my fishfinder and ducer arm. Newer-style clip-in cassette for the mirage drive and a sealed, V2 MD that is rock solid. I don't have turbo fins on it so as not to stress the drive. I still do circles around ScubaLuis.

I could go on and on about how much I love the AI and how versatile it is. Troll for salmon. Go for a sail. Just bring one ama arm and take it out on the reef. I kept my outback thinking that I would take it when I didn't feel like I'd need to be sailing, but I just use the AI for everything these days. It's not so terribly difficult to haul, you can roof-top it with the amas, no problem. I'd be happy to teach you how to set it up and how to work the sail.

Josh,  The year is part of the serial number scribed on back side of the hull.

well I guess that for the people that want to sail without having to pay 5K for a new one this is the way to go.
I would be tempted but I just replaced my brakes and discs on my excursion and now have to put a new roof in my duplex garage.

Nice kayak, I have seen this zoom pass me at Doran Beach.

Shameless self bump/re-stratisization

Lack of interest has me rethinking selling my AI. I might just sell my old outback with sail and ama's and just have two AI's. One for me and one for my friends! Overkill much? If I go lower than $2200, the price difference would be marginal between having my beater outback as a spare and having two friggin' AI's.

Also, I was thinking of trading it for an Outfitter or similar Hobie Mirage tandem. Any takers?

Not sure.... I was going to see if I could get $1500 from CL... amas and sail are worth $500 alone. Guess I'd do $1200 for someone here. The hull is old ('03?) But zero leaking. The biggest issue with this kayak is lack of upgradability for the old style rudder. You could probably rig something on there. I've taken it out to the ocean many times, the rudder isn't great but it works. I also replaced all the rudder lines so mechanically, it works great. :-)

Sell your sail & amas separately. You'll get more $ & they will probably sell fast as those rarely sell used.
