Lowrance Elite-4x Chirp with 83-200 transponder, battery and charger for $279

Bad news is that it will not arrive until next Thursday (UPS Ground from NJ).....can't wait to get it set up on my Tarpon

Does it have Gps too? Amazon had some really good deals. The prices have come down a lot on the chirp units.

The Elite 4x CHIRP is just a fishfinder; no GPS.  Have to get the Elite 4 CHIRP (no 'x' in the name) to get both gps & ff.

Just did a quick search.  Looks like the Elite 4 CHIRP (fishfinder/gps) with transducer is hovering around $300 & $500 for the 5" ($100 rebate on the Elite 5 or 7 CHIRP as part of a 'Boat Show Special' running thru Lowrance)

This is the one I'm considering. Combo unit with the 83/200 455/800 for $299. Is it much better than the HDI?

CHIRP does have some "bettering" effects over HDI in shallow water but it REALLY shines the deeper you go.
