Hi, all. I started kayak fishing five years ago when a neurologist suggested the kayak paddle stroke might help preserve movement ability (trunk rotation) in the face of a progressive neurological disease. Never would have guessed I would end up spending so much time at it. Favorite piscatorial targets are delta stripers and large wild and resident trout. My last outing was Tuesday at uvr, jigging and trolling for macks and what ever. I was skunked but did have a nice grab trolling as I had pulled in a couple of colors of lead core in order to pass the Rapala HJ over a hump that topped at about 30 feet. The rod tip bounced a little then just bent slowly back as if I had caught the hump. With the rod in my hands, a fish with some power went for a short run then stopped to head shake and came unhooked. I will be heading back to uvr soon.

Hope to meet you on the water. And I'm looking forward to more UVR reports---be sure to get some pictures when you land that monster Mac.
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

Interesting a Neurologist said something about kayaking… sounds like his reasoning was different for benefits, but if your into an interesting read …

" Blue Mind "  a book written and researched by a neurologist proving by science that being near, in or on water is truly beneficial for mind, body and soul...

Welcome Gary..a day in the kayak helps me with stuff for sure ..two days even more...the mind soaks it up for sure
We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

People aren’t supposed to look back. I’m certainly not going to do it anymore.”
