I am from The Chesapeake Bay area. My daughter lives in Sacramento and keeps telling me the kayak fishing is just as good here in Norcal..... looks pretty nice from what I've seen of Tomales Bay/Bodega/ Ft Ross. I was raised on Oregon coast but kayak fishing back then was certainly nothing I had ever heard of back in the 70's.

Well the weather might be an improvement......

If your daughter wants you nearby I wouldn't even think twice. Especially with grandkids

We would love to steal a yakfisherman from the east coast. I've never fished the east coast but it's pretty decent out here in the west. Welcome to NCKA :smt006

Welcome to NCKA Kevin  :smt006  Until you decide to move here, we would love to read your fishing reports and pictures from your area.

Definitely would welcome more pics and reports from your side of the country!

I lived in Edgewood, MD for a few years when I was a youngster.

I lived in Clarksville, MD for 7+ years, but never kayak fished back then. In any case, I'm sure you'll like the kayak fishing out here. Just be warned that the stripers are a lot smaller. Also, if you call a striper a "rockfish", you'll cause much confusion...
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

Hey Kevin,

Welcome, another snaggedline.com guy here, also director Chesapeake Bay Kayak Anglers, can't remember if you fished our tournament last September?

Left NorCal when I was 20, spent most those years in Easton MD, 30 years later, retired and living back here in NorCal, Redding area.  Fishing is excellent, although I will say I am enjoying learning freshwater fishing again and haven't been over on the ocean much.

A couple pictures of Chesapeake Bay Bridge one of my first M&G's, do miss the striped bass and bluefish fishing on the bay.
