Albion Open Rules, Raffle , Conduct

I hope everyone has just a great time this year. Myself and Linelle will not be there due to a great and fantastic offer from my family to go on an Alaskan cruise with them all. There will be twelve of us leaving San Francisco on July31st and returning August 10th.  The only disappointing thing is that we will not be at Albion for the first time since it started. There are going to be some folks you all know running the show to speak in our absence. Thank you all for continuing to support the event and the recipients of the proceeds.

As you might know, this year will be benefiting Circle Of Friends. A high school program that assists in helping the needs of students with some learning disabilities from other students. Paul Lebowitz lost his son earlier this year and in his honor the proceeds this year will go to the high school program that Pauls son attended in San Diego. All the proceeds from the raffle will go to this wonderful program. Please buy tickets so to help with the program and help us to let Paul know that we care. Thanks.

 Raffle tickets will be a dollar each. The awards for the tournament will start about an hour after the potluck starts at 5 PM. Then the raffle will start just after the awards. The grand prize for the raffle will be the Ocean Kayak Prwoler13. This is a new re-introduced kayak with upgraded handles and hatch. The color scheme is amazing. No Pro Staff for any other kayak company will be eligible to win the kayak. The rest of the raffle items will be available for all.  Thank you again for supporting the raffle as that is the real part of the event that makes donations available. We get a couple of things for free in the raffle like the kayak, the paddle, the  Kokatat Angler suit. Everything else is bought by me during the year.

The tournament rules are you have four species for the main tournament. Lingcod, Cabezon, Rockfish and Greenling. Out of these four you may retain three specie. No duplicates in the bag. The total weight of three of these different specie make your score. There are awesome plaques made by Sean/ Piscean for 1st 2nd and 3rd place. There is a special cash prize for the heaviest salmon and the longest abalone. $100.00 cash each. You may not win or place in the main tournament to win either the cash for heaviest salmon or longest abalone. So if you place in the tournament you do not qualify for either of the cash prizes. A little twist to the past rules but in my opinion needed. If you catch a salmon you may be asked to show your tackle with which you caught the salmon. Salmon caught on rockfish gear are illegal to retain. Even for photo ops. Please know your salmon. A Coho was brought in one year. We don't need that. All DFW rules and regulations must be strictly followed. Anyone caught breaking the regulations of the Ca. DFW will be immediately  disqualified. The tournament starts on the morning of August 8th 2015. The weigh-in will be until 1 PM at the fish cleaning station by the boat docks. You must be in line at one PM at the latest to have your fish weighed. NO LATE COMERS. If you walk up at 1:05 you will not get your catch weighed. Leave yourself plenty of time to return after fishing.

We have made great friends here. Please honor each other and make this event what its supposed to be. Friendly family atmosphere with great food and fellowship is the real prize. Thanks!!!! Thanks for your help and support. I was looking forward to meeting you. Guess, I'll  have to hook up with you another time. The Inland Passageway from Seattle to Juneau, Alaska is one of the most beautiful places I have been!!!

Thanks Bill. Allen you crack me up. The best part of ncka is that I get to meet friends like you that become even more over the years.  Thanks again Allen for all your help.
