I noticed on my 2 last trips theres about a half gallon of water inside my hull. My last trip, I didnt pay attention since it was gnarly and I almost ate it at the landing, I thought that water must have got in because of that. But this weekend I cannot remember any reason to have so much water, not to mentioned only fish for less than 2 hours, I think there might be some damage in my hull, I need figure it but I dont want to use too much water to test it out thats a total waste, is there any other way than just filling it with water? Thanks!

I guess you could fill it with air?  Have an air compressor and a bucket of water and soap, should be able to find all of the holes in your yak!

Switch a shop vac to blow. Take out the drain plug and put the vac on it. Then go around with a squirt bottle full of soapy water and look for bubbles.

I'd go with shop vac over air compressor due to the possible output pressure of a compressor.  You don't want to over inflate the yak  :smt002  (yeah, I know it isn't an inflatable)

Yeah, shop vac sounds better than popping it like a balloon.  :smt044

A little air pressure goes a long way! :smt002  It can be done but keep it around a couple PSI.

The older rod pod hatch is really leaky. Did you take a wave over your bow that flooded your cockpit?

Not at all, the whole reason I ignore on the first time I had water, I took a big wave and ate it on the landing.

A low-tech and quick method would be to shine a flashlight through the hull in areas that look questionable. Thin spots and potential leaks will let light through.

I also like the shop vac idea.
